Donor Opportunities
Annual Appeal
Pledges
You can increase the value of your gift to the Club by pledging a larger amount to be paid over a period of time, up to five years. For instance, if you intend to give $2,000 each year, you could make a $10,000 pledge to the Capital Campaign or Annual Appeal to be paid over five years. You would benefit by more significant credit and recognition opportunities such as a named gift. Additionally, the Club would benefit by using the pledge to meet a matching grant, thereby doubling the amount of the gift.
 Gifts of Cash/Stock
Cash:
Gifts by cash or check are always welcome; however, before you give a gift of cash, please consider other assets you could contribute which might offer you larger tax savings.
Stocks:
One of the most powerful ways to leverage your gift to the Club is by making a gift of appreciated stock. With a gift of stock that has been owned for more than a year, you can deduct its full fair market value as a charitable contribution, and avoid paying tax on any capital gain.
Life Income Gifts
The Club offers several ways to make a charitable gift that pays you or someone you love income until death. This type of gift offers you the following benefits:
- Lifetime income payments
- A significant income tax deduction in the year of the gift
- Estate tax and gift tax deductions
- Professional money management from the managers responsible for the Club's finances
Bequests
When you include the Club in your will, you help provide a legacy for all children in Northern Westchester while saving your heirs estate taxes. You may make a bequest as an outright dollar amount, a described property, or a percentage of your residuary estate. Additionally, contingent bequests can be made to provide first for family or friends and to benefit the club only if the named beneficiaries pre-decease the person making the will.
Capital Campaign
Millennium Gifts
All Millennium donors will be recognized on a plaque at the entrance of the building. Donors who contribute $20,000 to $49,000 to the Capital Campaign for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester will receive special recognition as Gold Millennium donors. Donors who contribute $10,000 to $19,999 will receive special recognition as Silver Millennium donors. Donors who contribute $5,000 to $9,999 will receive special recognition as Bronze Millennium donors.
Memorial Gifts
Honorary and memorial gifts are important sources of support for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester. These gifts are recognized in the name of the honoree at the appropriate giving level. When more than one gift is made in honor of an individual, the total of all gifts will determine the appropriate level for recognition. At the time of the gift or pledge, a letter is sent to the individual or family of the honoree, notifying them of the donor's generosity.
Named Gifts
Rooms or spaces in our building may be named by donors in recognition of gifts to the Capital Campaign. Donors are recognized by a plaque on the wall outside the entrance to the room, or at the entrance to an area. Please contact us for a complete list of rooms and areas available for naming.
